At Berkeley in the Sixties

Jo Freedman entered the University of California at Berkeley in 1961 as a freshman, and immediately became involved in activist politics on campus, demonstrating for civil rights and lower-income housing. She was there at the birth of the Free Speech Movement and also belonged to the Urban League and the NAACP.
